Now we know, a year later, how wrong a comparison like this is when the comparison is based mainly on hardware features such as those listed above. Hardware comparison miseed out a whole range of other quality factors that make iPad a daring. I happened to own a tablet PC and an iPad, but at different time. I am using the iPad a lot more than that I did the tablet pc. iPad is so light, instant on, feel good to touch, a pleasure to to use, yes, with my fingers, and have apps for almost everything I want to do. I read magazines, listen to music, watch movies, test my ideas, browse the web, and even go to bed with it. You can do all those on TablePC, but why bother if you have an iPad. iPad is more than a iPhone heavy. Granted, iPad is not for serious work, heavy typing is still not advisable. For serious typing, get a keyboard or get a Lenovo type solution mentioned by Ray above.

It really depends on what you are planning to use your tablet for. The main problem with tablets is the inability to type easily and as quickly, but a number of newer tablets are being released with the ability to connect and remove the screen making it both a tablet and a netbook at the same time - the perfect solution?

With Apple there are a number of restrictions as you are tied into their own apps market, whereas Android is more free with a wider choice.

If you will really try to ponder the comparison of the two. Tablet PC is far way better than any portable computer this genaration. With its great specs. It is without equal.

Our office is moving to a more paperless model with a much smaller "hub" office and each of the agents maintaining their own satelite office. With the newer versions of iPad and tablets for 2011, does the tablet still win out if you want to have one mobile device for Real Estate practice with signature capabilities?

It has its flaws as a primary mobile device, yes, but it would be a good secondary computer for couples or families where there is a primary computer in the home already. It’s also got applicability for some business use, an avenue which hasn’t really been covered in the media. The iPhone and its apps are already changing the way some businesses operate. Salesmen could use it to travel and do presentations, for example. It would be better if version 1 had a video camera and a USB port.

The protonotes script is embedded in an HTML page, so I don't believe it will work on an individual panel. It may be possible by editing the HTML/JavaScript directly, but I'm not aware of an easy way to do what you are asking.
