UM Library Usability Working Group
May 4th, 2009
Date of project:
- May 2007 – August 2007
Description:
- I worked for the Usability Working Group with another intern over the summer of 2007.
- We carried out both budget and formal usability tests
- I performed heuristic evaluations on both existing and in-development websites
Experience
- This internship was largely self-driven; while I reported to the group each week, I organized all aspects of the evaluation procedure, carried out all usability tests, and wrote all reports. I did have a co-intern who helped, though I took the lead, as I had more usability and web design experience. I feel that our process and results were strong and reliable. It was a lot of work, but it reinforced my knowledge that I can be very self-driven and productive when necessary.
